“Located in the developing outskirts of Merida, the inn has one advantage: it is walking distance to a supermarket and the anthropological museum. Looking for culture? You may be out of luck - 30 min drive to the vibrant center with all its bars and music. But the reason for giving 1 star was more serious miscommunication with the 'management', or complete lack thereof. I was there for a planned stay of five days, three covered by the local research institute and they had my credit card on file. My host receives a call on day three to send people to pack up my luggage. That was it. No note, like hey we noticed you are still around, or receipt the night before, with a can we help you? I felt evicted and humiliated. For me, they ruthlessly broke number one rule for hosts: take care of your guests and treat them with respect. Catastrophic!”
